Richard instructs courses for the federal government as well as Canadian Home Builders Associations of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland. He also teaches professional and technical courses, workshops and seminars. He is a consultant on residential energy efficiency, indoor air quality and residential mechanical ventilation. And finally, he is a consultant and expert witness on residential construction for the Nova Scotia Building Code.
In a period of 13 years, Richard took part in 16 research projects and publications. He has represented Canada sharing his knowledge and expertise across the globe including in Shanghai, the Republic of China and Iceland.
He authored Moisture in Housing, a 200-page manual on the building science and construction practices for the control of moisture in wood frame construction, with Designed Solutions Limited for CMHC.
