Richard Lind dedicates his efforts to benefit not only his
clients, but Canadian homeowners and the building industry itself,
for over 30 years. As a
Certified Residential Builder and Housing Professional, he builds
custom homes, renovations and restorations.
His significant accomplishments are many. He is licensed by the Government of Canada as a designer
and contractor of R-2000 homes. He is certified by the
Heating Refrigerating
Air Conditioning Institute of Canada to design and install ventilation systems.

We work with you to draft a contract specific to your needs. Our contract process is designed to enable you to
understand the project work and to help you decide on costs and allowances. Contracts typically include customized
blueprints and a construction specifications spreadsheet. This 300+ item spreadsheet outlines each step in your
project and all the construction requirements and finishing details from your footing drainage to your front door
bell!

Richard instructs courses for the federal government as well as
Canadian Home Builders Associations of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland. He also teaches
professional and technical courses, workshops and seminars. He is a
consultant on residential energy
efficiency, indoor air quality and residential mechanical ventilation. And finally, he is a
consultant and expert witness on residential construction for the Nova Scotia Building Code.
In a period of 13 years, Richard took part in 16 research projects and publications.
He has represented Canada sharing his knowledge and expertise across the globe including in
Shanghai, the Republic of China and Iceland.
He authored
Moisture in Housing, a 200-page manual on the building science
and construction practices for the control of moisture in wood frame construction,
with Designed Solutions Limited for CMHC.

More highlights of a remarkable career
In 1998, Richard Lind received the Province of Nova Scotia Home Award as
Industry Builder of the Year.
In 1995, the Province of Nova Scotia Award of Merit for restoration
of an historic Lunenburg home.
In 1994, the Province of Nova Scotia Home Award for
extraordinary achievement in the field of housing.
A 1989 project was recognized by a Lieutenant Governor's Medal.

Team which designs and conducts seminars on Canadian housing and
wood-frame construction world-wide for the Government of Canada with the
support of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
